With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Adam Ben Charles Berna, a beloved son, brother, and decorated soldier. Adam was born on November 3, 1979, in Wausau, to his loving parents Charles Berna and Linda Berna-Karger. On September 12, 2024, Adam departed from this world, leaving behind cherished memories of his courage, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.

Throughout his life, Adam served with honor and distinction in the United States Army, carrying out his duties with a sense of duty and commitment that inspired all who knew him. His passion for serving his country and protecting others was a testament to his character and his unwavering dedication to the values he held dear.

Beyond his military service, Adam was a devoted son, always there to lend a helping hand and offer words of wisdom to those in need. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends were qualities that set him apart and endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Adam was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He found peace in the outdoors.

Adam also had a deep love for his cherished dogs, Daisy and Honey. They brought him comfort and joy throughout his life. He found solace and companionship in their loyal presence, and they were a constant source of love and support for him.

Adam is survived by his mother, Linda (Bradley) Berna-Karger; father, Charles Berna; sister, Amber (Bradley) Myska; nephew Brayden Myska and niece Abigayle Myska; grandmother, Joyce Towle; uncle, Michael Towle Sr; aunt, Diane (Don) Parnell; aunts, Mary Thresher and Rose Schrauth as well as other family members and friends.

Family, friends, and fellow soldiers are invited to take a moment of silence to reflect on Adam and all the soldiers who have bravely served their country.

A celebration of Adam's life will be held at a later date.
