With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brandon James Gerrits, who left us on November 1, 2025, just shy of his 41st birthday. Born on November 18, 1984, in Green Bay, Brandon's journey through life was one marked by passion, dreams, and hope.
Brandon was the cherished son of Thomas Gerrits and Connie Gerber. He graduated from DC Everest High School, where his enthusiasm for life began to take shape. He attended The Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he honed his skills and chased dreams on the diamond. He later pursued further education at Southern New Hampshire University in 2016, demonstrating his commitment to personal growth.
Brandon dedicated his professional life as an over-the-road semi driver, almost always accompanied by his companion Jax the cat, contributing to the vital industry of supply trucking. His hard work and determination were evident in every mile he traveled; whether on the road or in life, he moved with purpose.
Beyond his career, Brandon loved spending his days on the bowling lanes or out on the golf course. While on the road, he seized the opportunity to incorporate golfing into his downtime, hitting the links at golf courses across the country, and looked forward to planning an annual golf outing for the family. He was an avid reader and media collector. At home, he enjoyed playing games, and watching his favorite series, films, and sports. Some favorites were James Bond, One Piece, and horror films with Joe-Bob Briggs. He rarely missed a Minnesota Wild game.
He was a man of depth and sensitivity, weaving connections with others and leaving a lasting impression on those who crossed his path. His struggles, though private, were a testament to the silent battles many face. Those who knew him recognized a kind soul hidden beneath layers of wry wit and feigned indifference, a reminder that we must show compassion to one another.
Brandon will be lovingly remembered for his adventurous spirit, unique sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family. Brandon is survived by his mom, Connie (Mike) Gerber; dad, Tom (Debbie) Gerrits; sister, Melissa; grandmother, Sylvia (Roy) Gerrits; half-sister, Brittany; step-siblings, Juli and Bryan Gerber, and a large extended family.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Leonard & Harriet Kimmons, and Roy Gerrits; uncle, Forrest “Twig” Kimmons; and forever friends, Kyle Kloth and Justin Selves.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Brandon's life on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Brainard Funeral Home- Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston, WI. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Rev. Karoline Schwantes will officiate the service.

Who shall say where one ends and where the other begins?"
