Dale D. Seymour

Dale D. Seymour, age 78, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, while at Rennes Rehab Center in Weston. He was one of eight children, born to the late Donald and Ruth (Lodholz) Seymour in Wausau, WI. Dale attended school in Wausau, before joining the United States Navy, to proudly and bravely serve his country for over 20 years in Japan, Vietnam, Spain, Washington D.C. and Florida, until he was honorably discharged in May 1985. Dale was a patriotic man and loved his country and his family fiercely. He married Ginny Quaderer in Gibraltar in 1970. A loving union lasting 52 years, until her death in 2022.

His family and military service were near and dear to his heart. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and UTV rides.

Dale leaves behind his partner/care giver: Joreen Jahsmann, daughter: Stacey (Edward) Benzing of Weston, with their children: Tyler (Rachael), Brandan and Justin, son: Scott (Lori) Seymour of Marathon, with their children: Derick (Kelsi), with their son: Grayson, Jared and Andrea, 7 siblings: Allen (Carol), Chuck (Leona), Suzanne, Ron (Laura), Patty Liederman (Charlie), Jeff (Stacey) and Terry (Connie). His is further survived by his loving brothers and sister-in-laws: Jerry (Willie) Quaderer, Bob (Lynn) Quaderer, Mike Quaderer, Joy Haase, and Judy Quaderer, along with numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Don and Ruth Seymour, mother and father-in-law: Ardith and Roy Quaderer, wife: Ginny and brother-in-laws: Alan Beck and David Quaderer.

The funeral service for Dale will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Brainard Funeral Home in Weston. Pastor Karoline Schwantes will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. Burial and military honors will be conducted at Pine Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations are to be directed to the Marathon County United Way organization.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Aspirus IMC, Palliative and Oncology departments for their care and dedication in caring for Dale. They also wish to thank the wonderful staff at Rennes for making his stay as nice as possible, and to Compassus Hospice for their support and help during his last days.
