In Loving Memory of Daniel Karl LaCerte
Heaven welcomed a remarkable man, Daniel (Dan) Karl LaCerte, age 77, on October 2, 2025. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, Daniel was the beloved son of Raoul Karl and Norma Betty LaCerte.
Dan was a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father, grandfather, uncle, and a wonderful friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Richard and Thomas LaCerte. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Diana; his son, Steven, and Steven's wife, Jacklyn LaCerte; his two cherished grandchildren, Jaden Rutkowski and Ryan LaCerte; and his nephew, Justin LaCerte. Daniel is also remembered fondly by many other relatives and friends.
Daniel grew up in Wausau and attended Wausau High School, where he developed a lifelong passion for curling. During his high school years, he and his teammates advanced to the state competition. Dan was deeply committed to the sport he loved, continuing to play with the Wausau Curling Club through the beginning of 2025. As time allowed, he also enjoyed playing golf.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Focusing on Accounting and Business Management.
Daniel cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, enthusiastically supporting them at their soccer and basketball games and tournaments. He also enjoyed attending their graduations, and their annual Badger game. Above all, Dan would have wanted to be remembered as a family man, always making sure that every family member felt valued and treasured during their time together.
Another tradition Dan enjoyed was the 7:00 AM "Blue Willow coffee and breakfast" group of friends. He spent many mornings on the porch with his wife Diana, overlooking the golf course and reminiscing about the wonderful years they shared together.
Dan dedicated most of his professional life to serving as Co-Owner and Chief Financial Officer of Automation Solutions Plus. After retirement, he continued to contribute as the Business Accountant for Greenwood Hills Golf Course. Throughout his career, Dan demonstrated unwavering dedication and integrity. He earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike, leaving a lasting impact on the community in Wausau and beyond.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, with Pastor Sharon Fox-Bogen officiating. Dan will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau, Wisconsin, at 1:30 PM.
