Debra "Debbie" Ann Henning, of Iron River, Michigan, was born on April 11, 1956, and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 14, 2026, at the age of 70.
Debbie spent much of her life caring for and feeding those around her, a reflection of her generous and nurturing spirit. She worked for many years as a cook and in the deli and bakery at local grocery stores. Many in the community fondly remember visiting Main Street Café, where they enjoyed her delicious, home-cooked breakfasts.
She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-camping, sitting around a campfire, and spending time with loved ones, especially her lifelong friend, Marsha. Debbie loved the holidays, particularly Christmas. Her home was always beautifully decorated, and her Christmas tree was her pride and joy each year. She also had a playful, competitive side and delighted in winning her family's quarters during lively games of left, right, center.
Debbie looked forward to the Henning family's annual Memorial Day camping weekend, where she was always counted on to bring her famous pasta salads-especially her cucumber dill, a favorite among her nieces. She enjoyed listening to music and watching her favorite movie series, The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Above all, Debbie deeply loved her family, even if she didn't always say it out loud. Her daughter, Jody, and her grandchildren, Allison and Mason, were her entire world.
Debbie is survived by her loving daughter, Jody Larson; her granddaughter, Allison (Kory) Wells; and her grandson, Mason Larson. She is also survived by her siblings: Curt (Carol) Henning, Kenny (Denise) Henning, Bruce (Karen) Henning, Nancy (Mark) Corazalla, and Jennifer "Fred" (Tony) Dzanbozoff; as well as many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Marsha Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Shirley Henning, and her brothers, Allen and Wayne Henning.
In accordance with Debbie's wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be planned by the family at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, especially ICU nurse Hailey, who went above and beyond to care for Debbie and support her family during such a difficult time.
