With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Emery Joshua Lewis a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully. Emery lived a full and joyful life, marked by hard work, unwavering dedication to those he loved, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Emery was born October 8, 1949, in Wausau WI to William and Helen Lewis, who preceded him in death. He graduated from DC Everest High School and went on to spend most of his working years as a concrete mason and proud owner of Lewis Brothers Construction. Through his craft, Emery left a lasting mark—strong foundations not only in the structures he built but in the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Audrey Macomber, Nancy Erickson, Sharon Block, and Bill Lewis. Emery’s greatest legacy is the family he built and cherished. He was a proud and devoted father to five children, each of whom carry forward his values of hard work, love, and resilience:
Family was the cornerstone of Emery’s life. He treasured weekends at the cabin, time spent around the card table playing Sheepshead, and the steady roll of a bowling ball down the lane. His drink of choice was a whiskey old fashioned served with good company and hearty laughter.
Though he has departed, the warmth of Emery’s spirit, his stories, his laughter, and his devotion will continue to live on in all who were lucky to share in his journey.
In honor of Emery, raise a glass, share a memory, and celebrate a life well-lived.
