Jacqueline M. Soucek

Apr 10, 1933 — Jul 23, 2026

Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie Soucek, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, in Wausau, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 10, 1933, in Morris, Illinois, Jackie was the cherished daughter of John V. and Rosetta (Creighton) Holian. She was raised with strong family values that shaped the compassionate, gracious woman she became and carried with her throughout her life.

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, and her parents.

Jackie dedicated more than 20 years of her life to serving the parish community at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin, Illinois, where her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith touched countless lives. She concluded her career at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Elgin, Illinois, continuing her lifelong commitment to serving others with grace, warmth, and devotion.

She found beauty and joy in life's simple moments. She delighted in feeding the squirrels and birds that gathered outside her home, finding peace in watching nature unfold each day. She enjoyed the challenge of completing puzzles on her iPad, loved taking scenic drives, and treasured the companionship of dear friends. Jackie also had a special fondness for collecting cardinals, which served as a lasting symbol of comfort, hope, and cherished memories.

Above all else, Jackie's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness, gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the countless memories she created and the love she so freely shared.

She is lovingly survived by her three children, William (Connie) Soucek of Woodstock, Illinois; Michael (Tammy) Soucek of Eastland, Texas; and Janet (Jeff) Gosch of Wausau, Wisconsin. She also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren, seventeen cherished great-grandchildren, many treasured extended family members, and countless dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Jackie's love knew no bounds. There wasn't a child she met who wasn't instantly welcomed as one of her own grandchildren, earning her the cherished title of "Gram" wherever she went. Her warmth, kindness, and unconditional love created lasting bonds with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Though she will be deeply missed, Jackie's love, warmth, and gentle presence will remain a lasting gift to all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, Jackie has requested donations be made to the Marathon County Humane Society.

A funeral mass will be held, 10:30 am, Thursday, August 13, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave, Woodstock, IL 60098, with Father Paul White officiating.
