James Lutzke, age 85, passed away on January 14, 2026. James was born in Wausau, WI to William Lutzke and Clotilda Ashbeck. James is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Linda Herbert-Lutzke and children from his first wife, Judi Smith: Cindie Zehnder (Dan), Cherie Boldt (Steve), and Jim Lutzke. Grandchildren: Josh Zehnder (Rebekah), Caleb Zehnder, Grace Zehnder, Sam Zehnder (Gina), Jamie Burns (Mario), and Bailey Boldt. Great-grandchildren: Naomi, Josiah, Melody, Addie and Mike Zehnder. Sister: Debra Stennett and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandchildren Jonathan and Lily Zehnder and other loved ones.
Jim loved the outdoors, especially hunting in Montana. He was a true cowboy at heart and never left the house without his hat and boots. He loved sports with football and racing at the top of the list. Just like his mother, he could fix anything, loved to dance and never missed beer time. Jim had a very generous heart and did whatever he could for his family and friends. Though his larger-than-life presence is gone, the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those he loved.
