Jeanette Johnson

Jeanette Knop Johnson, age 96 of Wausau, Wisconsin passed away on November 7, 2023. She was born on June 29, 1927, and was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Frances (Graf) Knop, her husband Dr. Fran Johnson, sister Patricia Dulak, brother-in-law Bruce Dulak and stepson Douglas Johnson.

On March 18, 1967, she married the love of her life and skating partner Dr. Fran Johnson. They enjoyed cross country skiing, bike riding, sailing, traveling, roller skating and ballroom dancing.

She was a Red Cross volunteer at Wausau Hospital (now Aspirus) and delivered meals for Mobil Meals. She also belonged to Marathon County Medical Alliance, several sewing clubs, bridge clubs, was a life member of Wisconsin Laureate Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and a life member of the Antique Study Club. Reading historical novels, doing cross word puzzles and cross-stitching Christmas ornaments for her family and baking Christmas cookies for friends and family were special joys.

Jeanette is survived by stepdaughter, Judith Harmon, Charlottesville, VA; stepson Jeff Johnson, Los Angeles, CA, nieces Karen (Mark) Taverna, Eagan, MN; Barb Dulak, Inver Grove Heights, MN; and Jane (Jim) Carlson, Lakeville, MN. Also surviving are step-grandchildren, step great grandchildren, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 am at First Universalist Unitarian Church, 504 Grant St, Wausau, with Rev. Brian Mason officiating. Visitation will from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
