John “Jack” Kukulka, 88 of Schofield passed away, June 7th after a very brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jack passed peacefully at his daughter’s home surrounded by loved one’s.

Jack was “forced” by Betty into spending a weekend up at Camp Tesomas with the Boy Scouts and he never looked back. It was then that he discovered a new found love for camping and being a hands on leader. He spent many summers up at Camp Tesomas where he enjoyed cooking for everyone. He traveled to a few National Jamboree’s and met some friends that lasted throughout his lifetime. He moved up in the scouting world and was elected into the Executive Committee and eventually received the highest award in Scouting with The Silver Beaver Award.

After Jack’s retirement, Betty and himself spent their summer’s camping at their resort in Eagle River and their winters in Brownsville, Texas. They had traveled to some of the most amazing places such as; England, Wales, France, Belgium, Germany, China, Mexico, Canada and the Hawaiian Islands.
