John A. Zutavern, 83, of Rib Lake, passed away on March 11, 2020 at Aspirus Medford Hospital.
John was born on March 10, 1937 to the late George and Clara (Puhlman) Zutavern, Sr. He married Patricia Thums on September 12, 1959. They moved to Milwaukee in the early 60’s, and eventually made their home in Rib Lake by the summer of 1969. They were married 54 years.
John worked for the Taylor County Highway Department, taking great pride as a grader operator in his respected 29 years there. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved entertaining his many friends and shared his love of playing music with his kids. He also loved a good beer.
John is survived by his children, Dan (Candy) Zutavern, Westboro, Terri Pfingsten, Merrill, and Steve Zutavern; along with five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and his siblings and parents.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held starting at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Rib Lake Ice Age Pavillion, 847 Fayette Ave Rib Lake, WI 54470. Family and friends are encouraged to join in honoring Big Bad John’s life.
