Kathleen Rose Krueger

March 27, 1941 — August 30, 2025

Wausau

Kathleen Rose (Radandt) Krueger, 84, of Wausau, peacefully passed away on August 30, 2025, at Mountain Terrace Senior Living.

Kathleen was born March 27, 1941, to the late Jack and Lila Radandt. She grew up in Wausau and attended St. Mary School and Wausau Junior and Senior High. She graduated in 1959. She met Roger Krueger when she was working as a carhop and he had just returned from serving in the Navy. They married on November 23, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2003.

Kathleen spent her early days working in the family grocery store and her summers were spent as a carhop. After her children were in school, she worked 30 years for St. James, now Resurrection Parish, as a school secretary, then as parish financial secretary. She loved that job. Activities included serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Brownie/Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club serving as president and treasurer and was a church and community volunteer. She especially enjoyed working on all of the Class of 1959 reunions.

Kathleen loved her monthly lunches with "The Union" of church secretaries: Sue, Ruth and Joan which lasted for a period of 35 years. She enjoyed retreats at the Spirituality Center in Marathon and Hermitages in La Crosse with her good friend, Jo. She wanted to spend more time volunteering, but that didn't work out, so she found other interests such as reading mysteries, crossword puzzles, crafts, making cards, and ceramics. On a good day, you'd find her at an area park with a sandwich and good book. More than anything, Kathleen loved family time. She enjoyed trips up north, but only after the garden was in.

She enjoyed mystery trips with Justin and Amanda and loved a good game of Christmas Bingo. She cherished the school concerts of her kids and grandkids, performances at The Grand, and Wednesday nights at Marathon Park, listening to Wausau City Band while the boy's played baseball.

Kathleen is survived by her loving children, Jeff (Doreen Trapp) Krueger of Kimberly, WI, Julie Krueger of Wausau, WI, Mark (Sara) Krueger of La Crosse, WI, and Scott (Jane) Krueger of Shawano, WI; grandchildren, Justin, Liam, Owen, Rylee Rose and Claire Krueger, and Amanda (Dennis) King; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Emma King; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Krueger; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Jack and Lila Radandt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge and Harry Rajek, Helen and Bob Bartelme; brother, Jack Radandt; mother and father-in-law, Jeanette and Les Krueger; sisters-in-law, Barbara Nordrum, Carolyn and Roy Lashua, and Gail Krueger; and brother-in-law, Robert Krueger.

Our family is profoundly grateful for the compassionate care and dedication provided by the staff at Mountain Terrace and the St Croix hospice team, which made a difficult time more bearable.
