Leonardo A. Zarko

With extremely heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Leonardo Arthur Zarko, who left this world on December 14, 2025, at the age of 35. Born on June 27, 1990, in Illinois, Leo spent his life bringing joy, creativity, and love to those around him.

Leo was the cherished son of Leonardo Zarko and Jennifer Cocks. His vibrant spirit and compassionate nature made him a beloved friend with the heart of a caretaker—always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. Those who knew Leo will remember him for his infectious laughter, warm heart, and the generous way in which he cared for others.

A talented chef, Leo expressed his love for life through cooking, creating meals that brought people together and turned simple gatherings into celebrations. His passion for the arts and creativity shone through all aspects of his life, enriching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Leo’s passing is a tremendous loss, and he will be deeply and profoundly missed by all who loved him.

Leonardo is survived by his parents, Leonardo Zarko and Jennifer Cocks, and his partner, Lucas Oliva, along with many friends and loved ones whose lives were forever changed by his presence. A celebration of Leo’s life will be held on January 17 at 3:00 PM at Oliva’s at Gulliver’s Landing, where friends and loved ones are invited to gather, remember, and honor the joy he brought into the world.
