We announce with both sorrow and joy, the death of our Mother, Marjorie Schwede age 86 who passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025 at Wood Aven Health and Rehabilitation in Wausau, WI. We are comforted in knowing she is now home in heaven, with no more pain and suffering.
Marjorie Verona Schwede was born on November 28, 1938 to August and Verona Koehler. She married Charles Schwede Jr on June 28, 1958. Marjorie was a great Stay At Home Mom taking care of their six rowdy children while Charlie was working. Mom spent many hours baking bread, cinnamon rolls and other sweet goodies. Our family always looked forward to holiday meals when she would bake her homemade dinner rolls. You could find her singing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" while doing her household chores. Some of our fondest memories include the annual family trip to Door County to pick tart cherries, summer camping and fishing. Many hours were also spent in the large vegetable garden and the process of canning. During the fall and winter you would find her knitting mittens, wool socks and slippers. One thing that brought Mom great joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing games, reading books, and baking cookies. She always insisted on being the first to hold any babies when visiting their home. As we grew older Mom went to work at Mrs. Karl's Bakery. As the years have gone by and we all get older new traditions were started. Each year she looked forward to having a summer cookout at their home and the Christmas get together with us children and our families. If you were to ask Mom "What makes you happy?" She would reply seeing my Charlie, our children and their families. One of her favorite sayings was "Count your blessings not your troubles." We will miss her very much.
