Marvin E. Seehafer, 92, of Wausau, passed away peacefully July 10, 2025 at Our House Senior Living in Wausau WI.
He was born on December 7, 1932 to Frederick and Helen (Wendorf) Seehafer. On August 14, 1954 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Norma Foster and together they built a beautiful and loving family. Marvin and Norma enjoyed 68 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2022.
Marvin was employed at Marmet Corporation for over 35 years until they closed their doors in 1992. During his employment there he was the Secretary/Treasurer of the IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers). He took great pride in his position and his contributions to making it a better workplace for all the employees.
Going up north to his cottage in Lake Tomahawk with family and friends was one of his favorite things to do. Fishing, biking, walking, and cross country skiing filled the days. Most nights ended with a campfire.
He loved gardening and each year he planted a vegetable garden and beautiful flowers. His favorites were gladiolas and the cosmos that were seeds brought from South Dakota by his mother. He always had a special smile on his face when the gladiolas were ready to pick and he brought them in the house for Norma.
He and Norma enjoyed following the Jackson Family Country Band. Marvin loved to dance and country music brought him much joy. Even during his struggles with dementia a country song would always bring a smile to his face.
Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him much joy. He loved to attend their sporting and school events. Whenever one of the kids would stop for a visit the smile never left his face.
Marvin is survived by his children; Sue (Ralph) Brzezinski of Saxon, WI and Michael (Dawn) Seehafer of Kronenwetter, WI; grandchildren Joshua (Sarah) Brzezinski, Adam (Emily) Seehafer, Matthew (Emily) Seehafer, and Jessica (Evan) Call; great-grandchildren Elissa Brzezinski, Hunter Brzezinski, Carson Seehafer, Rose Call, Cooper Seehafer, Levi Seehafer, Sylvie Seehafer, Sadie Seehafer and Allison Mashlan; along with many nieces, nephews, and other members of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Norma; parents Frederick and Helen Seehafer, parents-in-law Elmer and Florence Foster, son Dennis Seehafer, great-granddaughter Abigail Seehafer, sisters Gladys Duranceau and Alice Zdzieblowski, and brothers Herbert, Emil, William, and Robert.
