Michael J. Klussendorf of Wausau, Wisconsin died on August 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with Vascular Dementia.
He was born on August 6, 1950, into a dairy farming family in Waukesha County. He attended Mukwonago High School and UW Whitewater where he earned an accounting degree. He then attained his CPA certification. During his college years he became a Christian, and he leaned into those beliefs for the rest of his life.
Mike loved his work life. He took great pleasure working as the CFO of Merrill Steel and in other manufacturing environments in earlier years. He served on the boards of several churches and many non-profits. He looked for ways in any setting to make a positive difference.
He lived a simple personal life, enjoying gardening, walking the dog and nature. The Packers, the Badgers, and sporting events of his daughters were favorite interests.
Mike grew up with siblings Rob Klussendorf, Cheryl Almberg, Helen Leenhouts and Jill Bacon. He was married to Katie for 48 years. His daughters are Beth/Rob, Bekah/Liz, Heather/ Lee and Jordan/Myles. He has six grandchildren; Sefton, Eden, Julian, Vivian, Dean and Lawrence.
The family wishes to thank Aspirus Hospice Care, ADRC and Dr Marie Tomasi for guidance and help with Mike's illness. They are also grateful for the care and support from their Forest Valley Road neighborhood, and for the steady devotion of Mike's friend, Steve Schumann.
A celebration of life will be at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church in Weston. Time and date are pending.
