Pamela "Pam" Meyer

October 29, 1962 — August 30, 2025

Pamela (Pam) Jean Meyer passed away on Saturday August 30 at her home from an apparent heart attack. Pam was born on October 29, 1962 to Harold and Rita (Ellenbecker) Meyer. She was the youngest of their four children. She graduated from Wausau West High School in 1981. She continued her education at the University of Lacrosse receiving a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy. Almost her entire career was spent working for Aspirus Hospital here in Wausau specializing in women's health. She retired in 2022 and we never saw a person adapt to retirement like she did. From day one her and retirement were best friends.

Pam had the personality that could light up a room just by entering it. She was always upbeat and positive. She had the ability to make a difference and she often did. Extremely outgoing with a great sense of humor made her a welcome addition to every event. She could also be a bit of stinker and never missed an opportunity to pimp you when the opportunity was presented. But it was always in fun and she could take it as good as she gave. She was family to anyone who needed one. Willingly extending a helping hand to anyone she found in need.

Pam loved live music and would never pass up an opportunity to get out on the dance floor and shake a leg or any other body part for that matter.

Although extremely thankful for her Catholic up bringing, her later years were spent following the path of Spirituality rather than religious doctrine. Her interpretation of spirituality was the constant search for truth. Which she did in all aspects of her life. Not always finding it but the journey was so worth the effort. She was rewarded with new friends, and an amazing new way to look at and understand life and the role she played in it.

Pam is survived by her sister Kathy Strohkirch and her two daughters Amy Walls (Dave) and their two sons Teryn and George (Courtney) and Jamie Strohkirch. Two brothers, Ken and his daughter Michelle Montagnino (Lee) and their three boys, Hudson, Sebastian and Miles. Larry and his wife Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Terry Strohkirch and her sister-in-law Pauline Meyer.

We will be celebrating Pam's life on Friday, September 19 at the Brainard Funeral Home in Weston. Visitation will be from 9 - 10:30. At 10:30 we will remember and honor her by having an "All things Pam" celebration. In honor of her, who she was and the life she lived we ask that you dress in bright and flashy clothes. Not the normal solemn attire usually associated with someone passing. Pam lived her life with flare. We want to say good bye the same way.

Immediately following her celebration we will be going to Uncommon Pints to give her a send off she would be proud of.

In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made to the Hagar House in her name.
