Patricia "Pat" A. Schreiner

Patricia “Pat” Audrey Schreiner, age 74, of Weston, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Marshfield Medical Center – Weston, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Wayne and Myrtle (Paul) Long and was born in Oak Park, IL. Pat graduated from Proviso West High School, Hillside, IL and went on to take some courses at junior college. She found her soulmate and best friend, Virgil Schreiner, and the two were united in marriage at Divine Infant, Westchester, IL, on May 20, 1972.

Leaving behind dreams of becoming a teacher, Pat embraced another dream of having a large family and devoted her life to being a wife and mother of five children. Pat worked at the Wausau Daily Herald for 7 years, and then went on to work for American Family Insurance in the claims department for the next 24 years. She had an incredible work ethic and was a selfless woman. Family was her priority in life, and she cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. Family and friends treasure the gifts she gave them from her love of sewing, working in her flower and vegetable gardens and orchard, and playing the piano. Pat put a lot of love into feeding her family by preparing dinners nightly and making and decorating custom birthday cakes. Pat was a member at Saint Therese Catholic Church in Rothschild, WI and volunteered her talents with the stained glass committee guiding the efforts to design and install all 28 windows. She had a strong faith and was a devoted Christian. Pat is remembered as a kind and faithful woman, whose infectious laughter would ring, bringing joy to any room she graced. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Pat leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years: Virgil Schreiner of Weston, WI, son: Mark (Sue) Schreiner of Sussex, WI, daughter: Linnea (Kevin) Lannon of Granger, IN, son: Michael (Carla) Schreiner of Cedarburg, WI and daughters: Melanie Schreiner and Michelle Schreiner, both of Melrose, MA, grandchildren: Stephen Schreiner, Gwyneth and Greta Lannon, and Elsa, Ethan and Gabriel Schreiner, along with brother: Thomas (Terri) Long of Downers Grove, IL, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and was a beloved sister-in-law to: Doreen (Leroy) Riehle, Bernadine (Kenneth) Pollack and Judith (David) Weix. She is further survived by her loved and spoiled German Shepherd: Saber. Pat is preceded in death by her parents.

The Funeral Mass for Pat will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Therese Catholic Church in Rothschild, WI. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass, also at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
