Patricia Ramsey Ralph

Patricia Grayson Ramsey Ralph, 82, died early Sunday, August 16, 2026 surrounded in care and kindness at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau, Wisconsin.

Born on Sept 22, 1943 in Charleston, SC, Patricia was the first child of Maurice Grayson (MG) Ramsey and Mildred Elizabeth Brown Ramsey. Petite in stature but bigger in life, always with a smile and giggle, Patty embraced sharing kindness and love for all things.

On June 17, 1990, Patty married Thomas Daniel Ralph, who was her loving husband until his death on August 22, 2020. Patty then moved from Salisbury, NC, to Wausau Wisconsin to be closer to her brother, her four nieces, and their families. She resided at Primrose Retirement Community and Applegate Terrace, where she charmed everyone with her ready giggle and southern accent.

She was blessed in her marriage with Tom, to have Jenifer as a stepdaughter, whose love of animals paralleled that of Pats, leading to an almost open-door policy on pets. Through the years, Pat and Tom’s home on High Rock Lake in Salisbury, had a menagerie of animals; dogs, ducks, chickens and other sundry creatures, with hummingbirds at the many feeders hanging from the deck.

Patty’s life was full of adventures, from travel to India, Switzerland, and New York State to study Transcendental Meditation under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. A visit to California in August, 1970, by her brother, Steve, found them at the Troubadour listening to an unknown performer, Elton John, making his US debut.

A free spirit who’s love of life, her family, and her five chihuahuas, Patty will be remembered and missed by Jenifer (Sal Vasta), Boston, Pat’s brother, C Steve Ramsey and his wife, Mary Warren, Mercer, WI, Steve’s four daughters, Shannon Ramsey, Wausau, Shelley DeJongh (Dave), Cornell, WI, Stacy Heise (Mike), Wausau, and Stephanie Tatro (Eric) Mosinee, their children, Sydney, Sophia, Addyson, Bryce, Maci, Marcus, Ella, Emmeryson, and Eslynn, and Patty’s brother-in-law, John Christopher Ralph, Tennessee. A family celebration of life will be held for Patty on Long Lake in Mercer, Wisconsin.
