Richard Dale Habermann

Richard "Rick" Dale Habermann, 72, of Schofield, WI, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2025, surrounded by family at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI.

He was born on September 19, 1953, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Dale and Dona (Barcome) Habermann. Rick graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. On September 13, 1975, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nancy Ordman, in Elm Grove, WI. They shared 47 years of marriage before her passing on November 19, 2022.

Rick dedicated much of his career to public service. He worked as a police officer and detective at Wisconsin State Fair Park and also served in security for Briggs & Stratton before joining the Marathon County Jail as a correctional officer. He later worked as a courier for Aspirus Health Care. Rick enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara (Russell) Berg; and his siblings Susan Block, Patty (David) Seese, and Linda (Joe) Bath. He is further survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy; his parents, Dale and Dona Habermann; his brother, Thomas Habermann; and his parents-in-law, William and Marilyn Ordman.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Brainard Funeral Home - Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston, WI. Interment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI, at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Angels Grace Hospice, and close friends, especially Sue Raab and Jim Maguire, as well as extended family for their wonderful care, support, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marathon County Humane Society.
