Roger A. Eisenman, born June 12, 1925, in Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away on July 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for family, community, and faith.
He was the son of Arthur, Sr and Elizabeth (O'Neil) Eisenman. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Arthur Eisenman, Jr. and Mark Eisenman, his sister, Betty Eisenman and his beloved wife Patricia.
Roger married the love of his life, Patricia Bauman, on August 7, 1951. Together they built a devoted family and were blessed with three children: Louie (Cheryl) of Schofield, Wisconsin; Anne (Russ) Johnson of Buckeye, Arizona; and Amy Meyer of Scottsdale, Arizona. They also have four grandchildren: Louie (Camelia) Eisenman of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Lisa (Jeff) Suppon of Wausau, Wisconsin, Ryan Eisenman of Washington D.C., and Madysen (Mike) Masino of Sunrise, Florida, as well as two great grandchildren, Jennifer and Fernando and many nieces and nephews.
A proud combat veteran of World War II, Roger enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard at the age of 17. He served aboard the USCG Cutter Woodbine as a radar operator throughout the Pacific Theatre, including Saipan, the Mariana Islands, and Okinawa. After the war, he was honorably discharged, returned home and completed his education, graduating from Wausau High School in 1947.
Roger Spent the majority of his career with WSAU Radio, beginning in sales in 1953 and rising to station manager in 1976. He was respected for his leadership, integrity, and strong work ethic.
Roger loved sports, especially baseball. He played in the Marathon County League, Wisconsin Valley League, and City Fast Pitch Softball League. He also coached youth baseball for many years, serving boys of all ages in Youth Baseball Minors, Little League, Pony League, Senior League, Babe Ruth, and American Legion. He served as President of Little League and was inducted to the Wausau Youth Baseball and Softball Wall of Honor in 2020. He was also active in the community as President of Grant School PTA and the Citywide PTA Council. In addition, he served as Publicity Director for the Wisconsin Valley Fair. Roger also liked to bowl and golf.
Music also had a big influence on his life. He was a member of the Wausau Barbershoppers for 75 years. He performed with the River Valley Harmonizers, performing in the annual Barbershop show, singing Valentines, the annual Christmas concerts, many weddings and other various events. He was named Barbershopper of the Year three times and was affectionately known as "Mr. Barbershopper."
Most importantly, Roger's faith was central to his life. He was active from an early age in St. James Church and later in the Church of the Resurrection, where he sang in the choir most of his adult life. His faith was an enduring source of strength and guidance throughout his life.
Roger will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, his contributions to his community, and his lifelong love of music, sports, and faith. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
In his last weeks, Roger was comforted by the caring team from Aspirus Hospice. His family wishes to extend special gratitude to Kari, Carrie, Jason and Chris at Aspirus, as well as Char and the entire team from Careview Transitional Care (formerly Pride TLC) for providing exemplary long term assisted living care.

A visitation will be held July 16th, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Church of the Resurrection in Wausau. Funeral Mass to follow with Father Tom Lindner officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
