Ronald "Ron" Buedding passed away May 1, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on February 28, 1944, Ron was the son of Wilbert and Leona (Sowinski) Buedding. After graduating from Wausau High in 1962, he proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy, including a two-year assignment in Scotland. After returning home, Ron married Jean Fehl on April 8, 1967. They recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Ron was employed at Wausau Papers for 37 years before his retirement.
Ron was a true Wisconsinite and embraced the four seasons. During daylight hours, you would rarely find him indoors. Being an outdoor enthusiast, Ron especially enjoyed riding his bike, walking, fishing, and perfectly manicuring his yard. The birds never went hungry, and the snow hardly had a chance to touch the ground with Ron around. Some of Ron's happiest moments were spent relaxing "up north," where he shared endless stories and laughter with his family. He also loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and his morning coffee with dear friends.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean "Jeanne" Buedding; his son, Dan (Tara) Buedding; his daughter, Heather (Kirk) Polkinghorne, and his granddaughter, Norah Polkinghorne; his siblings, Dennis (Nancy) Buedding, Mike Buedding, Bob (Anne) Buedding, Sue Beck, Randy (Kathy) Buedding, and Becky Felver; his in-laws, Vicki Buedding, Judy (Dennis) Jehn, Mary (Joe) Spychalla, and Mary Fehl; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron is now reunited with his parents; his brother, John Buedding; his sister, Lori Buedding; his father and mother-in-law, John and Verna Fehl; and his brothers-in-law, Jeff Felver, Bill Beck, and John Fehl.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Brainard Funeral Home Wausau Chapel (522 Adams Street, Wausau, WI 54403)
