It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Burger. Ronnie was born in Illinois on July 18, 1951, to Henry and Ruth Burger. He passed away on September 26, 2024, after a very sudden decline in his health. Ronnie was only 73 years of age.
Through the years, he loved fishing, hunting, watching baseball and football and making friends wherever he went. Ronnie also was an avid, talented pool player. In his earlier years, he was known to be the life of the party. He was stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He’d give you anything even if it wasn’t his to give. He could make you laugh even when you were mad at him.
He worked at A.O. Smith Corporation in Elkorn, Wisconsin for many years as a machine operator before working as a delivery driver for Best Bargains in New Munster, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his loving sister Teri Schley and her husband Michael. He is also survived by six nieces and two nephews. They include his nieces Vickie Lawrence, TraciJo Claesson, Colleen McGaughey, April Carey, Lisa Tolbert and Marlo Carlson; and nephews Dan Claesson and Cody Burger.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ruth Burger; brothers Frank "Squeak", Henry "Junior" and William "Billy"; sisters Jackie Claesson and Geri Karbo; nephew Dean Claesson and niece Wendy Bishop.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Traditions at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living, especially his friend and caregiver Sam who spent a lot of time caring for him letting him know he was loved (even on her days off) and the Compassus Hospice team for their compassionate care during Ronnie’s last months. They would also like to thank their family and friends for their prayers and support.
No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to be determined. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate to show your support please visit Ronnie’s memorial website below:

They further request that you then have a cold Oldstyle in his honor.
