Ronald "Ron" Dietl, 83, of Weston, passed away at Pride TLC on October 6, 2025, with family by his side.
Ron was born September 25, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN to parents, Robert S. and Guinevere Dietl. Ron spent his childhood years in Robbinsdale, MN and later moved to Lafayette, MN. He began his career as a bagger at Shopper City and went into cashiering and became assistant manager as the store changed its name to Zayre. When Zayre closed, Ron joined the school district as a janitor and bus driver where he enjoyed being around all the children. He was a fantastic volunteer- driving bus for the nursing home and transporting patients to their appointments. He married his first wife, Diane Frederickson, in 1962, and together they had two sons. They spent 47 years together before she passed away. He met Barbara Broz, and they married in 2013. Without hesitation, Ron joined the family by immediately jumping in. He enjoyed camping, fishing walleye in Canada and deer hunting in Northern Minnesota. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family. We will all miss his great sense of humor and kind heart.
Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara Dietl; son, Michael (LeAnn) Dietl; step-children, Sara (Todd) Babl, Jacqui (Pat) McElroy, Rachel (Kris) Swenson, Bill Miller, and Chuck (Dawn) Miller; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Gregory (Lee McCaig) Dietl, Teresa (Duane) Lilja, and Kathy (Jeff) Grover; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Dietl; and sister, Rita Archer.
