Sandra (Sandy) Stremer, age 83 passed away on June 30 in the comfort of her home under hospice care due to complications of kidney and pulmonary problems.
Sandy was born to Arthur and Elsie Giese in the Town of Frankfort, WI on March 30, 1942. She attended school there, in a one-room schoolhouse. She graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1960. She was one of 6 children. She married Roger Stremer on Feb. 6, 1965.
After graduation she attended technical school and then was employed with banking and retail positions. Career opportunities allowed them to live all around the country including Milbury, MA; Jenison, MI; Alden, NY; New Philadelphia, OH; with periodic moves back to Wisconsin. At all these places she established new friends, and cared for the boys in their activities. In 1994 Roger and Sandy settled in Wisconsin near Lake Dubay where she began her career in Real Estate. She was consistently a member of the “Million Dollar Club” She was recognized as one of the premier agents in the industry.
Roger and Sandy enjoyed many cruises and tours to Europe, Mexico, Cuba and the Caribbean to name a few. After retiring they continued with their wanderlust and enjoyed 15 years of traveling in a motorhome, which she loved to drive, throughout the United States. During this time she served as President of Wisconsin Winnebago Club for several terms and enjoyed organizing gatherings. When at home she served on the St. John Lutheran Church council.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Roger Stremer; two sons Steve (Mollie Guldan) of DeForest, Eric (Carrie) of Plover; four grandchildren Drew (McKenna) of Mason City, IA; Ben of DeForest, Zach of Wausau, and Megan of Eau Claire; her sister Etola Foytek of Phillips, and many nieces and nephews.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Elsie and Art Geise and her brothers Bill Geise and Mel Geise and sisters Lorinda Erickson and Noreen Geise.
Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on August 2, 205 at Peace Lutheran Church in the Town of Frankfort, Edgar with visitation from 9:00 Am until the time of service. As Sandy stated, “I was baptized, confirmed, married and want my memorial to be at Peace.”
