William D. Gregory, age 91, of Minocqua, formerly of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander.
He was born on June 11, 1935, in Escanaba, Michigan, a son of William J. and Loretta A. (Coghlan) Gregory. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked for himself for many years before his retirement. He spent most of his life in Minocqua, but more recently in Rhinelander. He was united in marriage to Carol Kurth, who preceded him in death on May 31, 2013. He was very social and enjoyed visiting the local taverns for a cold one, conversations and wherever he could find karaoke. He sure loved music and singing even if there wasn’t karaoke.
He never went without having a little dog which he was always sure to spoil each of them. He cherished every moment he got to spend with family and always carried a smile that would light up a room. He enjoyed life and was always having a good time, living his best life.
He is survived by his children, Mike Gregory, Colette Gregory, Keith Gregory, Todd Gregory; seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren and brother Jerry Gregory. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Loretta; his wife, Carol; two grandchildren; siblings, Dick, Ronnie, Joann, Wayne and Rosemary.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Friendly Village Nursing and Rehab in Rhinelander, for the care they showed to William during his time there.
The family will host a Celebration of Life gathering, on Saturday, September 26, 20026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Wausau Labor Temple (LT Club).
