Susan Pergolski, 57, Rothschild, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at home due to complications of Covid-19 and Alzheimer’s disease following a short hospitalization.

She was born April 19, 1964, in Wausau, daughter of Ronald and Rometta Goetsch. Susan graduated from Wausau East High School and attended Northcentral Technical College. She married Tom Pergolski in October 2003.

Growing up, Susan loved to spend time with friends and visit her family’s cabin in Tomahawk. She enjoyed singing as well as playing the piano and guitar. Susan worked for her parents at Wausau Monument for 30 years. She purchased the business from her parents in 2005 when they retired, and became a local business owner serving the community she grew up in. With the help of her husband Tom, Susan aspired to keep the family business operating throughout her diagnosis.

She was very dedicated to her family and had a strong will to put their needs before her own. Later in life, Susan enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting, building campfires, and spending time with her family.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Tom and her parents, Ronald and Rometta, include her sister, Lori (Mike) Detjens; children Logan Ballschmieder and Danielle Ballschmieder (John); Kelly Wolslegel, Kim Pergolski, and Josh (Leslei) Dickerson; grandchildren, Ava, Mykko, Millie, Hunter, Riley, Ella, Ransom, and Leila.
